The Puppies will have received their 1st round of puppy vaccinations. The vaccine administered protects against: Distemper, Canine Adenovirus Type 2 (CAV-2), Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus.
A puppy's vaccination schedule typically includes the following ages:
We feed our dogs Diamond Naturals Lamb & Rice. We feel like this recipe is the best cost to nutrition ratio on the market. You are welcome to switch your new pup to whichever brand you find best. In your welcome home puppy bag we will include a bag of food to get your pup transitioned to a new type of food if you would like to switch. You will want to mix new food with the Diamond Naturals to avoid digestive upset!
The pups are dewormed every 2 weeks from birth to prevent against intestinal parasites. Fenbendazole Suspension 10%
(100mg/mL) is administered by the puppy’s weight. Most vets will deworm routinely at their vaccination visits.
Our top pick for flea elimination and prevention is: The Happy Jack Paracide Flea and Tick Treatment and Prevention Shampoo. Tractor supply carries this brand.
The puppies will be ready to go around February 1st. We can arrange a pick up date closer to then. We will send them home with a bag of starter food, a collar, leash, and some toys (new) they are used to playing with here. There will also be a folder containing vaccination information, deworming information, microchip information and registration application.
Unless the new family is opposed, all puppies will have an AKC reunite microchip implanted below their skin in between the shoulder blades. This microchip is about the size of a grain of rice. Dogs found wandering can be scanned to pull up owner contact information. It is important for you to activate your AKC reunite microchip as soon a possible so your contact information can be added to their system. The AKC reunite microchip is our preferred microchip carrier and is what will be implanted into the pup. Your puppy’s unique microchip number will be provided in your folder.
Unfortunately, we have been experiencing low temperatures. Because of this we will not be taking photos in the natural outdoor lighting. As soon a the weather improves, better photos will be posted!
EVERYONE needed big adjustments to collars today! They are growing so fast!
